River City Folk has been a nationally syndicated radio broadcast since 1991. I always felt very privileged to add the strings of my D-41 and my voice to these duet recordings. We generally just ran through these songs once or twice, and put them down direct to two track - nothing fancy.

Beppe Gambetta came to us as a young Italian guitar phenomenon. Lee Murdock, Great Lakes troubadour, is still performing extensively. Crow Johnson lives and sings in Arkansas. Chris Kennedy is an old pal, and we still perform together frequently. Rock Springs, Wyoming is home for him. The great songwriter and my old friend Bill Morrissey hailed from New Hampshire; we miss you, Bill. Steve Gillette and Cindy Mangsun are folk music legends. Jerry Short and Rick Watson came from Massachusetts to perform the show in Omaha. City Folk are no longer together, but what a great group they were! Michael Johnson continues to perform his wonderful songs across the U.S. Amy and Jenny also came from the East Coast. Bill Staines continues as one of the most beloved traveling minstrels in the U.S. Jim Salestrom is a busy guy, playing his own songs and working with Dolly Parton. Neal and Leandra rarely perform these days, but cultivated quite a following in the 90’s. The Canadian trio, Tiller's Folly, is quite active and working constantly. Ellis Paul’s music pops up on TV as well as on his fine albums.
